Full Master 100-ton Captain Course ...

This USCG approved course will satisfy the exam requirements for the
original issue of Master or Mate 100-ton or less with either an Inland or
a Near Coastal route.

Upgrade OUPV to Master 100-ton Captain Course ...

This USCG approved course will satisfy the exam requirements for the
upgrade of a valid OUPV Inland or Near Coastal to Master 100-ton or
less with the same route.

Full Master 200-ton Captain Course ...

This USCG approved Master 200-ton course will satisfy the exam
requirements for the original issue of Master or Mate 200-ton with
either an Inland or a Near Coastal route and includes the following
two-course sequence:
  • Master 100-ton
  • Upgrade Master 100 to 200-ton

Upgrade Master 100 to Master 200-ton Captain Course ...

This USCG approved upgrade course will satisfy the exam
requirements for upgrading a valid Master 100-ton Inland to Near
Coastal to Master or Mate 200-ton with the same route.

Professional Requirements ...

The sea service requirements for Master 100-ton is:
  • 360-days for an Inland route.
  • 720-days (including 360-days on oceans) for a Near Coastal
    Route.

The sea service requirements for Mate 200-ton is:
  • 180-days for an Inland route.
  • 360-days (including 180-days on oceans) for a Near Coastal route.

The sea service requirements for Master 200-ton is:
  • 360-days (including 180-days as licensed master, mate, or OUPV)
    for an Inland route.
  • 720-days (including 360-days on oceans AND 360-days as a
    licensed master, mate, or OUPV) for a Near Coastal route.

Tonnage limitations apply. These endorsements are issued as 25, 50,
100, or 200 tons depending the tonnage that the qualifying
experience was on.

USCG Course Approvals ...

Any applicant who has successfully completed your Master 100 Tons
(COLPAC-281) course and presents your Certificate of Training within
one year of the completion of training, will satisfy the examination
requirements of 46 CFR 11.201 (j)(1) for original issuance, 46 CFR
10.227(e)(1)(iii) for renewal, and 46 CFR 10.227(i) for reissuance, for
any one of the following endorsements and may not be used for any
application transactions thereafter: Master of less than 100 GRT, Near
Coastal, or Great Lakes & Inland, or Inland Waters; OR, Master of
less than 100 GRT, Near Coastal, Raise in Grade from OUPV Near
Coastal; OR, Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels (OUPV) or
Mate of less than 100 GRT Upon Near Coastal, or Great Lakes &
Inland, or Inland Waters.

Any applicant who has successfully completed your Upgrade OUPV
to Master 100 Tons (COLPAC 530) course and presents your
Certificate of Training within one year of the completion of training, will
satisfy all examination requirements for upgrade of a merchant
mariner credential from OUPV Near Coastal, or Great Lakes and
Inland, or Inland Waters to a credential of Master or Mate not more
than 100 gross registered tons upon Near Coastal, or Great Lakes
and Inland, or Inland Waters; OR, increase the scope of a credential
of Master or Mate of not more than 100 gross registered tons upon
Great Lakes and Inland, or Inland Waters to Master or Mate of not
more than 100 gross registered tons upon Near Coastal Waters. The
course completion certificate issued upon successful completion of
this course is valid for one application which results in the issuance of
an endorsement(s) and may not be used for future application
transactions.

Any applicant who has successfully completed your Upgrade Master
100 Tons to Master 200 Tons (Near Coastal) (COLPAC-526) course
and presents your Certificate of Training within one year of the
completion of training, will satisfy the examination requirements for
upgrade of a merchant mariner endorsement as Master not more than
100 gross tons (of Self-Propelled vessels of less than 100 Gross
Registered Tons) Upon Near Coastal, or Great Lakes & Inland, or
Inland Waters to Master or Mate of Self-Propelled vessels of less than
200 Gross Registered Tons Upon Near Coastal, or Great Lakes &
Inland, or Inland Waters. The course completion certificate issued
upon successful completion of this course is valid for one application
which results in the issuance of an endorsement(s) and may not be
used for future application transactions.
