Classes begin January 1, 2018. January through March is our busy
time, so schedule early to make sure you get the class you want with
the schedule that works best for you.
Notice of Price Increase
The price of all classes will increase $50 on January 1, 2018. We will
honor the 2017 prices for all classes paid for in full prior to that date.

|Who we are and what we do...
US Coast Guard approved classes for professional
mariner deck credentials, AKA Merchant Mariner
Credential (MMC), deck endorsements in Portland, OR.
Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessel (OUPV) for fishing
guides and other small vessel operators carrying six (6) or fewer
passengers (AKA 6-pack license).
Master 100 and 200 ton (includes 25 and 50 tons, and Mate) for
charter boat captains carrying more than six (6) passengers, crew and
work boat captains, captains of oil spill response vessels, and
License Prep is for mariners seeking deck officer endorsements
greater than 200 GRT (500 GT) that require examination at a USCG
Regional Exam Center (REC).
Able Seaman (AB) for mariners working as deck crew on seagoing
vessels greater than 100 GRT.
Radar classes include Radar Observer Unlimited, Radar
Recertification (Radar Renewal), and Automatic Radar Plotting Aids
(ARPA). All radar class meet the STCW requirements for OICNW on
vessels greater than 500 GT.
Apprentice Mate (Steersman) of Towing Vessels is the first step to
becoming a tugboat captain.
Master / Mate of Fishing Vessels is a captain's license for fishing
industry vessels from 200 GRT to 5,000 GRT.
Endorsement classes adding an endorsement to an existing captain
license; including Auxiliary Sail, Commercial Assistance Towing,
Apprentice Mate, or Master / Mate of Fishing.
Upgrade classes increase the authority of an existing captain license;
including Inland to Near Coastal, Near Coastal to Oceans; OR OUPV
to Master, Master 100 to 200 GRT.
Guard as Merchant Mariner Credential Endorsements. With some
exceptions, crew working on seagoing vessels greater than 100 GRT;
and anyone who operates a vessel of any size carrying cargo or
passengers for hire must hold a valid USCG issued MMC
endorsement appropriate for the vessel and route they are on and the
position they hold.
